This course is designed to introduce NTU students to university-level English. It will continue to train students to listen to miscellaneous English audio programs based on students’ own interests and choices. It will also guide students to read, discuss and interpret short stories and proses written by award-winning American writers of Asian ancestries including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Filipino. Students will have the chance to apply the language skills they have learned through ten listening transcriptions, two essays, one individual presentation, and near the end of this course, through a group presentation in the form of a short play.
